About Me
My journey into this field is deeply personal. Supporting family members with mental health struggles and navigating my own challenges in relationships opened my eyes to the profound impact of secure relationship attachments and personal growth on overall wellbeing and quality of life. These experiences ignited a passion in me to help others overcome challenges, find meaning, and develop the skills required to nurture authentic connection in their lives. I established my practice to create a space where individuals can heal, grow, and reconnect with themselves and their significant others.
Qualifications and Professional Affiliations
I hold a Bachelor of Science and a Master of Counselling from Monash University, and I am a Level 2 Registered Counsellor with the Australian Counselling Association. I also hold a Diploma of Yoga Teaching and a Certificate in Yin Yoga. These qualifications have provided me with a comprehensive understanding of human behaviour and a diverse range of therapeutic approaches. Additionally, they have enabled me to explore the profound connection between body and mind, highlighting how practices like yoga can complement traditional mental health support, such as counselling.
Since graduating with a Master of Counselling, I have proactively engaged in professional development training. This additional training has equipped me with expertise in applying evidence-based therapeutic modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness Practices, Somatic Therapy, Gottman Method, and Emotion-Focused Therapy.
Professional Experience
I have provided individual counselling in both non‑profit and private practice settings, and couples counselling exclusively in a private practice environment. I am also a qualified yoga instructor, with experience facilitating Yin Yoga classes. Additionally, I have worked as an NDIS Psychosocial Recovery Coach, assisting individuals with psychosocial disabilities to build capacity and achieve their personal goals.
